They bloom in our gardens, our balconies, our terraces in bedding or in planters almost throughout the year. Pansies offer a wide variety of colors with almost 500 species listed! The pansy is part of the botanical genus Viola, which includes 500 species. Originally, Viola are perennial plants, but pansies, which bloom in our gardens, are horticultural varieties grown as annuals or biennials. Among these, we must distinguish viola x wittrockiana (garden thought) better known as giant flower pansies and viola cornuta (horned violets), a pansy with small flowers but with generous flowering. When is the perfect time to plant thoughts? Purchased in pots or pots, you can plant pansies in the fall or early spring. Professionals often believe that it is better to plant thoughts in the spring, so that they benefit from the length of the day and stronger sunshine than in winter to flourish. However, if you plant the pansies in the fall, when the earth is still warm, you will get solid plants that can withstand the cold of winter. For spring flowering, the seeds must therefore be sown at the start of winter. For a later flowering (autumn and winter), plant the seedlings at the end of spring (generally from June-July to August) for establishment in autumn.
