We love chocolate… and enjoying it on the sofa while watching TV, we don't dislike it either. In our moments of gluttony, we do not always think of the consequences, and the stain on the leather or on the fabric quickly arrived. Not always easy to remove, chocolate stains sometimes create halos when you try to clean them. So that this does not happen to your sofa, let yourself be guided by our tips and very practical solutions!
On a leather sofa
Leather is a very fragile material, so when it is stained, there is no question of using any product to clean it. Before using any stain remover, test it first on a side that is less visible. If there is a deterioration in the leather, then another solution will have to be found. And the solutions precisely? On a fresh stain, you can apply a cotton pad soaked in cleansing milk and a drop of ammonia. It is not a question of rubbing like a madman, but of passing it gently until the stain disappears. You can also choose the clay stone option: this natural material works miracles on any spot! Finally, also think of talc! Sprinkle the stain, make it penetrate well, wait a few hours then brush the sofa. That's it !
On a fabric sofa
Lovers of light fabric sofas, watch out for stains! Once embedded, it is often difficult to dislodge them. We therefore advise you to quickly swab the chocolate stain with a cloth soaked in warm water and a few drops of ammonia. Leave to dry and repeat the operation if necessary. If you do not have ammonia, but a Marseille soap on hand, know that it can also be very useful. Rub the stain with the barely damp soap to form a small thick crust. Leave to act for 30 minutes then rinse with warm water. Finally, if you don't have either, head to the bathroom and grab your toothbrush and toothpaste. We apply a small dose on the chocolate stain, rub gently, and it only remains to rinse.
